Quiapo

Quiapo is a district in the bustling, busy and crowded city of Manila. Quiapo gets it name from a floating plant named; "Kiapo" that grew abundantly around that area. Quiapo Church, Quezon Boulevard. Built during the 1890s of Neo-Renaissance ornamentation. Ocampo Pagoda, (Bilibid Viejo). The Ocampo Pagoda is an example of "Where East meets West" architecture, the pagoda is mixed of European and Oriental architecture and looks like as if a temple in good old China has been invaded by the English and made into a castle. The history is that Don Jose Ocampo wanted and ordered to beautify his garden. Golden Dome Mosque. Quiapo is home to a large Muslim Community, this mosque was built in the 1970s in order of Imelda Marcos for the visit of Libyan President Muammar al-Gaddafi, although his visit was cancelled. It is the biggest mosque in Metro Manila and serves the large Muslim community of Quiapo.

Quirino Grandstand

The Quirino Grandstand. Presidents of the Philippines traditionally take their oath of office and deliver their first address to the nation (Joseph Estrada and Emilio Aguinaldo inaugurated at Barasoain Church , site of the drafting of the Philippines' first democratic constitution). Many important political, cultural and religious events in the post war era have been held here, including the mammoth festivities that capped the 1998 Philippine Centennial Celebration. Marking a hundred years since the declaration of independence from Spain.

Malabon City

The City of Malabon is one of the cities and municipalities that make up Metro Manila in the Philippines. Located just north of Manila, the city has a population of 363,681 as of 2007. It is primarily a residential and industrial town and is one of the most densely populated cities in the metropolis. It has a total land area of 19.714 square kilometers.

Malabon is part of the sub-region of Metro Manila informally called CAMANAVA. CAMANAVA consists of Caloocan City, Malabon City, Navotas City, and Valenzuela City. Caloocan lies to the south and east, Navotas to the west, and Valenzuela to the north. Malabon also borders the town of Obando in the province of Bulacan to the northwest.

SMX Convention Center

The SMX Convention Center (formerly Maitrade Expo & Convention Center) (Project Name: MAITrade) is the Philippines' largest privately run exhibition & convention middle. The 46,647-square meter building will have seven floors & basement parking with a total leasable area of 19,800 square meters featuring huge exhibition areas & function rooms. The convention middle can fit about 6,000 people.

The groundbreaking was held on March 23, 2006. The P900 million project, was completed & inaugurated on November 5, 2007. It is set to compete with the nearby state-run Philippine International Convention Center & World Trade Center-Metro Manila.

Makati Stock Exchange

On January 4, 1993, the former Manila Stock Exchange started the computerization of its operations using the Stratus Trading System (STS) with a company called Equicom. Later that year, on June 15, the former Makati Stock Exchange adopted the MakTrade trading system. Both systems were linked on March 25, 1994 to produce a One Price-One Market exchange.

Two years later, on November 13, 1995, the implementation of the Unified Trading System (UTS) allowed the use of a single-order-book system on a MakTrade software where all the orders are posted and matched in one computer.

In 2005, the PSE adopted an online daily disclosure system (ODiSy) to improve the transparency of listed companies and ensure full, fair, timely and accurate disclosure of material information from all listed companies. The ODiSy provides 24/7 online system access for the submission of all types of disclosures.

As of 31 December 2009, the Philippine Stock Exchange had 248 listed companies with a total market capitalization of US$130 billion. There are 184 trading participants registered at the PSE, of which 132 are active.
